Tropical Storm Don has formed east of the Windward Islands, the National Hurricane Center says.

The storm has sustained winds of 40 mph and is moving west at 17 mph. A tropical storm warning has been issued for the island of Grenada, and tropical storm watches have been issued for Barbados, St. Vincent, the Grenadines and St. Lucia.

The storm is not expected to be a threat to the United States.

A second system is also brewing in the Central Atlantic. Forecasters says there’s about a 20 percent chance that storm, located about 800 miles west of the Cabo Verde Islands off Africa’s west coast, will become a tropical cyclone.
