TAMPA — The Tampa-Hillsborough Expressway Authority on Wednesday morning showed off the driverless electric shuttles it plans to run along the Marion Street Transitway downtown.

During an expo, French company Easy Mile presented the shuttle service “EZ10,” which runs on virtual tracks.

Siemens and NXP Semiconductors also hosted a “live connected vehicle” demonstration. Participants were driven around on a half-mile course. The technology was an example of some of the systems expected to be featured in a downtown pilot program through the Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority and U.S. Department of Transportation.
