  • OCALA, Fla.-Marion County Sheriff Chris Blair was indicted by the State Attorney’s Office on two charges of perjury and one count of official misconduct, court records show.
  • Gainey will serve as the Sheriff until November, when Marion County residents will vote on a new Sheriff.
  • Marion County Sheriff indicted on perjury charges
  • On Thursday, Blair reportedly testified to the Grand Jury that he couldn’t see the injuries to a suspect’s face because he only saw the back of him and because there were so many people around him.
  • Blair’s Office is already under a Grand Jury investigation for their alleged use of excessive for and that perjury charges stem from his testimony and a signed affidavit relating to that investigation.
