On Saturday, Northeast will host the Spectrum Shootout, which pits three private schools from Hillsborough County against three public schools from Pinellas.

Girls basketball season has one week left before district tournaments start on Jan. 30. Some teams are playing stiff competition to prepare for districts. On Saturday, Northeast will host the Spectrum Shootout, which pits three private schools from Hillsborough County against three public schools from Pinellas.

In the first game, Northeast will play Tampa Prep at noon. Clearwater plays Tampa Catholic at 2 and Palm Harbor University plays Seffner Christian at 4. The final two games will be televised by Spectrum. Admission to the tournament is $5.
