CLEARWATER — Clearwater (3-2, 1-0) picked up its first district win with a 51-0 victory over Osceola (1-4, 0-2) Thursday night.

It was 7-0 after the first quarter thanks to a 2-yard touchdown run by Azyia Vance on the first drive. Osceola managed to stay in the game during the quarter thanks to defense. Liam Gangemi intercepted a Colin Wray pass to end one Clearwater drive, then forced the Tornadoes to three and out on their next one.

After early struggles by Wray, backup quarterback Rent Montie entered the game. The sophomore threw two touchdowns, 34 yards to Brannan Demeter and 28 yards to Jarius Williams to put Clearwater up 30-0 at halftime.

Osceola attempted an onside kick to begin the second half at the Clearwater 35 to give the Warriors a positive start. Qwa’shaun Perry put a quick end to that with a 60-yard fumble return that activated the running clock.
